Star Charts ---------------------- 3D star charts for batting and bowling can be viewed from the in game menu. To view them, press Esc in game to bring up the menu and choose the stats option and then "Star Charts". Pace of delivery ---------------------- can be increased or decreased suddenly only BEFORE release of the ball. i.e. when bowling, up until just BEFORE the ball is released from the bowlers hand, you can increase delivery power by double tapping button 1, or decrease power by tapping button 1 once only. This will help you in decieving the batsmen with a late change of pace. *Function keys F1 to F8 are hot keys for the camera views. *************************************** HINTS AND TIPS *************************************** Difficulty level ---------------------- The games difficulty/AI scales with the number of overs you select for a match ie you need to play a 50 over match -if you play a 5 over match even on a high difficulty setting your opponents can seem relatively easy to beat. When you play in a world cup competion difficulty also scales as you get into the later stages i.e. super six and semi finals etc. So just because you are doing well with a particular tactic against teams in the early rounds do not assume its easy to win the world cup and ofcourse you can use the difficulty sliders to increase the challenge... Finally if you really think you are a great player/want the most realism then you should be able to win the world cup playing in 'expert mode' Batting ---------------------- DO NOT JUST STAND STILL AT THE CREASE, move around this will open up a wider slection of shots to suit the direction you are tryings to hit in. (use the nets to practise.) Bowling ---------------------- sides are more likely to take wickets by alternating between spin and pace bowlers at either end. This varied bowling attack has proved useful in upsetting the batters' rythmn and may help you claim a few scalps! Against weaker teams (and at easier difficulty settings) bowlers you may be able to find a weak spot in the batting team's defence with certain types of balls. However, this strategy will fail miserably against stronger teams (and/or if the difficulty setting is increased) as they will start to pick the balls you are trying to ball and score runs from them more readily." To bowl bouncers bring the bowl target toward the bowlers end so its less than 1/2 way down the pitch. Replay mode ---------------------- When in replay mode, use the mouse to click (left click) on any player's head, the umpire or the actual ball to focus the replay around these objects. Use right click and drag on your mouse to zoom in our out on the replay. Use left click and drag to rotate or adjust the viewing angle around the selected item. The shuttle dial at the bottom left of the replay screen will allow you to pan through the replay and catch your brilliant moments at variable speeds forwards or backwards, including frame by frame. Left click and drag on the edge of the shuttle dial to alter replay speed as required. *************************************** More information *************************************** For more up to date information including any game updates/patches and FAQ's, visit the EA Sports web site at the following sites http://www.easports.com.au http://www.ea.co.za/newrelease/cricket99 http://www.easports.com http://www.ea-europe.com/cricket99 For support related queries, please send an email to ozsupport@ea.com or run the EA Technical Helpfile program found in the START>Program Files>EA Sports>Cricket World Cup 99 program group and fill in the relevant details.
