International Test Cricket

HyperTest Cricket is a Freeware Macintosh cricket simulation by or who it is by Dave Liverman. I don't have access to a Mac to check it out. HyperTest Cricket does not work with Executor (a Mac emulator for the PC).

README File

Here you will find, after 4 years of playing around with it, the first "official" release of HyperTest Cricket. Let's call it 1.0 beta.. This is a simulation and game based on the game of cricket, played in most civilized parts of the world.

Requirements

Mac with at least 2 megs of memory (I think, the more memory the better)

Hypercard 2.1 or Hypercard player

Photos won't show properly on 2 bit B & W monitors, but that has little effect on the game

That's it!

A couple of things to remember.

THIS STACK WILL NOT RUN PROPERLY UNDER THE RECOMMENDED MEMORY ALLOCATION

FOR Hypercard or Hypercard player.

You MUST up the memory allocation to 2 megs. To do this, find the application HC or HC player, select it with the mouse, and then select "Get Info" from the file menu. There you will be able to type "2000" in the suggested memory box.

For those of you not familiar with Hypercard, if you get stuck somewhere you don't want to be, and can't see a way out, try the "Go" menu, or use the arrow keys on the keyboard. I haven't made much of an attempt to protect this stack in any way, so you might mess up things if you play around with the scripts, or the tools.

This is still a work in progress, but given the lack of Mac cricket games out there, especially FREE ones, I thought I'd release it. Suggestions, bug reports welcome. if anybody is a dab hand at hypertalk programming, I'm sure you will find some more efficient ways to do what I've done in the stack. This was my first attempt at programming for years (anyone remember ALGOL?), so I learnt as I went.

This is FREEWARE, it (either in it's entirety or parts thereof) is NOT to be sold or commercially distributed in any fashion without permission of the author.

If you think it is worth some $$, please look kindly on any charity that deals specifically in 3rd world aid with no religious affiliations. Oxfam is one that comes to mind...
